Character Creator 3 – 캐릭터 만들기

Reallusion의 Character Creator 3는 유료 소프트웨어인데 몇 번의 클릭으로 뛰어난 퀄리티의 3D 캐릭터를 쉽고 빠르게 만들 수 있습니다. 또한 다양한 부가 기능/툴을 별도로 구매하여 캐릭터를 세부 조정할 수 있으며, 의상, 헤어, 모션 등을 Contents Store에서 구입할 수 있습니다.

Character Creator 3로 만든 캐릭터는 같은 회사에서 개발한 영상 제작 툴 iClone 혹은 Unreal, NVIDIA Omniverse 등과 같이 유명한 렌더링 소프트웨어에 바로 연동해서 사용하거나, FBX 같은 3D 파일로 export하여 Maya, 3DS Max, Blender 등에서 사용할 수 있습니다.

3D 캐릭터를 생성하는 툴 중 Character Creator 3에 견줄만한 툴은 그나마 Daz 3D를 들 수 있습니다. Daz 3D는 무료 소프트웨어인데 컨텐츠들이 유료입니다. 몇몇 무료 컨텐츠가 있으니 맛보기는 가능하겠네요. 조만간 Daz 3D에 대한 소개도 해보도록 하죠. 개인적인 느낌에는 Daz 3D는 Character Creator보다 퀄리티나 부가 기능이 떨어지고 튜토리얼 같은 서비스 측면에서도 아쉬움이 남습니다.

그 외에도 Blender Addon 툴인 MB-Lab이나 HumanGenerator가 있긴 하지만, Character Creator를 한 번 맛보고 나니 눈에 들어오지 않는군요.

그럼 이제 Character Creator 3로 캐릭터를 만들어 봅시다. 유료로 구입한 Elite 패키지에서 캐릭터를 선택하고 옷을 입힙니다.

캐릭터 선택 후 옷을 입히고 헤어를 추가 Content 탭에서 옷을 선택해서 클릭하면 끝 헤어도 Content에서 골라 클릭하면 끝

헤어 색이 좀 이상하네요. 좌측 Scene 탭에서 Avatar > Real_Hair를 선택하고 우측 Modify 탭 > Material > Shader Type을 Digital_Human Hair에서 PBR로 바꿔줍니다. 헤어 설정은 복잡하던데, 나중에 공부해서 정리해보도록 하죠. 일단은 PBR로 바꿔서 의도된 색으로 보여지게 합니다. 이때, Hair 아이콘으로 표시된 4개 요소 모두 PBR로 바꿔줍니다.
